TSA has clamped down on liquid and gel foods—like hummus, peanut butter, yogurt, and soups—classifying them under the 3 1 1 rule. Anything over 3.4 oz must be in checked baggage or foregone. In parallel, lithium batteries—portable chargers, power banks, spare/rechargeable batteries—are now carry on only, removed from checked luggage for safety. Solid snacks like chips, granola bars, and fruit remain safe in both carry on and checked bags.
