Color Your World With Orange: Cruising in Vibrant Hues
Once Upon a Time, the World Was Black & White
Now, we can see—and capture—it in living color.
Each week, travelers around the globe joined the #FriFotos photo forum to share images based on a theme revealed every Tuesday at noon ET. This theme: #Orange.
From cruise ships to sunsets, here’s a splash of orange from our travels to brighten your day.
Plenty of Orange on Cruise Ships
On a recent sailing aboard Carnival Breeze, I spotted a bright orange water slide at WaterWorks. Maybe it was the color that drew me in, but I couldn’t resist the challenge—and it was just as fun as it looked.
Another memorable moment came on Norwegian Epic. After twisting through an enclosed tube, the ride spills you into a swirling orange-and-yellow bowl. Even though I can’t swim, the thrill was worth it!
Cruise ships also showcase stunning art, often featuring bold colors. On Celebrity Mercury, I admired a striking eagle sculpture flecked with orange. On Royal Caribbean’s Jewel of the Seas, another imaginative piece brought a whimsical splash of color to the ship.
And while not pictured here, you’ll find plenty more orange on board—from lifeboats and life preservers to vivid décor—perfect for your own photo collection.
Nature Paints With Orange
Of course, not all orange comes from human design. One of the most breathtaking displays is a sunset at sea. As the sun dips toward the horizon, the sky explodes into shades of red, gold, and orange, painting the ocean in warm light.
These moments are unforgettable—and yours to capture when you explore the world by cruise ship. Try giving yourself a photo assignment: seek out all the ways nature and design combine to color your world with orange.
Tip: Next time you sail, look for orange in unexpected places. You may come home with memories—and photos—far more colorful than you imagined.
